The shipyard's zenith was reached in 1845 with the launch of the sailing vessel "Nuova Argentina", the largest ship ever built in Trieste.


 
In the year 1852 the Authorities approved the project of laying a railway line between Trieste and Vienna and on June 18th, 1853 an agreement was reached to turn over to Trieste's Municipality all the areas belonging to the Panfilli family. As an idemnity agaist the expropiation, Antonio Francesco Giuseppe Panfilli was given not only cash but also extensive lands.
